Please indicate the operating system you're using and the exact nature of the problem. 2) WINDOWS 95/WINDOWS NT USERS ### If the start-up screen does not appear When you insert this CD, a start-up screen should appear automatically with various menu options. If it does not appear, click "Start", "Run" and then type "d:\x\start95.exe" where "d:" is the letter of your CD drive. ### Using the on-disk browser One way to view the files on this disk is to use the on-disk browser program. You launch it by selecting the first option on the start-up screen. This browser program works much like any other web browser. Right click your mouse to go back and forth between pages you've already visited. Buttons across the top link to major product categories, while the "Bookmark" menu takes you to other important sections. A large button at the top toggles between "Search Screen" and "Browser Screen" modes. Unless you have a live connection to the Internet, e-mail links will not function. ### Using your own browser Instead of our on-disk browser program, you can view data using any web browser already on your computer. You can do this from the start-up screen or by launching your browser and opening the file called START.HTM on this disk. The disadvantage of this method is that you will not be able to search for words and numbers. E-mail links are also non-functional unless you have a live connection to the Internet. ### Using Acrobat Reader We strongly recommend that you install the Acrobat Reader Version 3.01 software contained on this CD since our documents may not be readable by earlier versions. And with 3.01, you'll be able to fill out the on-screen request forms for samples, quotations and technical questions. The easiest way to install is from the start-up screen. This is an enhanced version of Acrobat Reader with search capabilities. You can search all our PDF documents to find a word or number. You'll find the search feature under the "Tools" menu. 3) MACINTOSH, UNIX AND OTHER PLATFORMS ### Using your own browser One of the ways to view this disk is by using any web browser already on your computer. To begin, launch your browser and open the file called START.HTM on this disk. ### Using Acrobat Reader The other way to view our data is by using the Acrobat Reader program. To begin, open the file called START.PDF on this disk. We strongly recommend that you install the Acrobat Reader Version 3.01 software contained on this CD since our documents may not be readable by earlier versions. And with 3.01, you'll be able to fill out the on-screen request forms for samples, quotations and technical questions. To find the installation program, please look in the "Acrobat" folder and then the folder for your operating system. This is an enhanced version of Acrobat Reader with search capabilities (except for LINUX version). You can search all our PDF documents to find a word or number. You'll find the search feature under the "Tools" menu. 4) PDF TROUBLESHOOTING If you already have a copy of the Acrobat Reader program on your computer, please make sure it is Version 3.0 or later. Many of our documents cannot be opened by earlier versions. This disk contains the latest version of Acrobat Reader 3.01 for all operating systems. To find the set-up program, go to the "Acrobat" folder and then the folder for your operating system. If you are viewing documents using your web browser, Acrobat must be set up as a "helper application." Please consult your browser's documentation for help.
