It's brain dead. I suspect that one or two injector drivers or transistors have burned up, as every now and then all the cyls work for awhile. In the process of checking all the other stuff I've guessed at everything including fuel filter, tank sock, atmospheric pressure, fuel pressure, timing, etc. Currently it seems to be running hot or hot weather if and when all cyls decide to work. Today I took it through emissions. With 2 cyls missing it had .o5% co and 118 hydrocarbons. It's not an ignition prob! I'll have to admit that 2 cyls pumping air with no fuel is one hell of an air pump! So we're back to, anybody got any bosch-d diagrams? ------------------------------ From: talltom Date: Sat, 27 Jul 1996 03:38:17 -0700 Subject: Re: DIY_EFI Digest V1 #212 > > From: scicior@xxx.com (Steve Ciciora) > Date: Fri, 26 Jul 1996 15:10:40 -0600 > Subject: Re: toothed wheels for crankshaft position sensing > > Thanks for the info. If you look at his advertising it raves on about how great it is, and when you read the small print it sez nothing is guaranteed more than 90 days! These things go gor 1500-3000 bucks and are guaranteed for 90 days? Not in my lifetime! Further I personally know of people that have installed his systems and the instructions are inadequate to the point that somebody who builds race cars for a living got a ground wrong that the instructions didn't address and fried the whole system, and of course no guarantee.$$$$more$$$$ I've also heard from many diferent sources that even if you get them to work initially(no small challenge) the longevity is frequently less than 2 yrs. So folks, this guy should show you how bad you can be and still be successful in this field. From what I hear when he shows up at the specialty equip. manufacturers assn. people gang up on him to argue. A real prize! ------------------------------ From: Fred Miranda Date: Sat, 27 Jul 1996 09:01:49 -0700 Subject: Re: Tec wheels, etc No one ever said you had to go directly to Electromotive to get their wheels, or that you need to tell them what you are using it for. Call up one of their dealers, or ask them for a dealer in your area. >This Fella at Electromotive has a reputation nationwide. Installing an aftermarket efi system doesn't require much more skill than doing a high end stereo install. Many mechanics couldn't properly install a stereo, so how could one expect them to do an efi system? As far as getting one going, all it takes is some common sense and patience. > I've also heard from many diferent sources that even if you >get them to work initially(no small challenge) the longevity is >frequently less than 2 yrs. > So folks, this guy should show you how bad you can be and still >be successful in this field. Based on your experience, who in the field offers better value, reliability and ease of installation/tuning? > From what I hear when he shows up at the specialty equip. >manufacturers assn. people gang up on him to argue. This doesn't surprise me, due to their lack of tact on the phone, but it is probably just those incompetents that shouldn't have bought the system in the first place.
