Yes, but are they using EFI on SCUD's? Terry (Does anyone else wonder what the hell the above was all about? Sounds like somebody's pissed at Jews.) ------------------------------ From: Simon Quested Date: Mon, 08 Sep 1997 09:40:07 +1200 Subject: Fuel Pressure.....what to use ? Hi All With the fuel pressuer debate going on I thought i'd throw this in... Can someone tell me if I'm on the right track. I have a Ford "pinto" 2 liter to go in my Capri. I'm using port injection. Atomosphere (1 bar) = 14.7 psi turbo boost = 15 psi so the fuel pressure is going to need to be at least 14.7 more than max in the inlet manifold this will give me a total fuel pressure of 44.4 psi (3 bar approx) I'm going to be using a regulator with an inlet manifold pressure line so that will increase the fuel pressure under boost. What shoud I set the idle fuel preesure at ? I was thinking 14.7 psi Cheers Simon +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Simon Quested (E-mail questeds@xxx.nz) Computer Technician, Silicon Graphics & Windows NT Support Centre for Computing and Biometrics LINCOLN UNIVERSITY OF NEW ZEALAND Phone (64)(03) 3252811 Ext. 8087 +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ http://www.lincoln.ac.nz/ccb/techs/simon/default.htm +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When the chips are down, the cow is empty. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ------------------------------ From: dane_boy@xxx.com (Mikey B Sorensen) Date: Sun, 7 Sep 1997 15:06:23 -0700 Subject: Hi I'm new - ABS-system for sale.. You are obviously not running near enough lead in your fuel. - -j- ------------------------------ From: avos@xxx.au Date: Mon, 08 Sep 97 10:23:09 EST Subject: Re[2]: EBC/AIC I've never used an extra injector to richen under boost, but I thought that all they did is turn on under high boost? I always thought it was a bit simple. The best way I can think of is to sense for 100% (or close to it) duty cycle of the standard injectors, and turn on the injector when this is reached. I reckon that many of the aftermarket extra injector controllers would probably only take inputs of boost and maybe rpm. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: Re:EBC/AIC Author: diy_efi@xxx.edu at INTERNET Date: 06/9/97 21:45 I don't know to many things about your boost controller ( maybe it's to simple ) If you can't stabilize the boost , maybe you have to take care about how fast it's growing ( the boost ) and to advance or retard the moment of opening the gate , or maybe you are not fast enough . About the AIC , in my opinion , can't be just an extension of an EBC . When you have to spray additonal fuel you have to take care about more then 1 parameter . boost/throttle pos + rpm . I gave that up after I started flying. Flying, that's where you disperse lots of lead out of your exhaust pipe in a nice even spray down on to the dirt and the common unwashed masses below that eat the food from it. Bottom line: Never consume anything that isn't distilled first. - -j- ------------------------------ End of DIY_EFI Digest V2 #310 ***************************** To subscribe to DIY_EFI-Digest, send the command: subscribe diy_efi-digest in the body of a message to "Majordomo@xxx.
