Mayfield" Subject: New List Member with A Question Hi, I am Larry Mayfield and I am building a Bonneville Salt Racer. The engine in it is a dual turbo Ford 302. I do not have the induction system completely figured out yet but I am leaning towards EEC-IV SFI as found on '93 Mustang GT. But could I use the unit from a 4.6L Crown Victoria which has the EDIS instead? Has anyone updated their 5.0L Ford to EDIS? I have to modify a carb manifold with injector bungs to fit the car anyway so use of a different EFI system wouldn't hurt much. Any comments? Please reply off list so as to not bother the rest of the members unless you think it would be interesting.. Thanks again, L.E. Any help is appreciated If the carb float is original, it has probably absorbed fuel and gained weight. That's what typically causes flooding on these cars. Replace the float. Be careful handling the TPS as its easily broken. My Turbo 350 Chevy w/ 12+ lbs boost (<5k rpm) died with 2 cast cranks, lived with a forged one. It destroyed the bearings - one looked like someone heated the bearings until soft and pushed the crank in. spread the bearing like putty. Now I'll just have to see if I can download it. I think I have found it at http://leechftp.hypermart.net/ but am having problems getting there. Have you another address where its available. LeechFTP seems to me to be the best one. It will d/l HTML requests as well as FTP requests. And it is FREEWare! It also allows use of a proxy. Although I was told it was the lines getting congested due to traffic since the company hooked up our Singapore office. But the IT people said one of these autoresuming programs would fix the problem (but they didn't have one or know where I could get it). So now I just have to get the Leechftp program and try it. I want to see if I can use it on the SC swap I'm doing on my Fiat (the rest of the motor I stuck in a friends Ford Laser over the weekend, runs beautifully). Now the sensor has a manifold connection and 3 wires as follows: yellow/green - 12V according to wiring diagram White/blue - Instrument cluster according to wiring diagram Black (gnd ?) - Instrument cluster according to wiring diagram I presume the black will be gnd (otherwise I can't see how the electronics in it can work, although white/blue could be gnd), but with the wires going to the instrument cluster. Do they drive the boost gauge directly ? Are there driver chips in the cluster that drive the gauge ? What is the output signal from the sensor, ac, dc ? Is black gnd ? hope someone can help as it may save me $100 on a boost gauge.
