I am also a member of the SDML(shelby dodge mailing list) The vnt is a good turbo. There have been a enough people that have used this turbo to 19psi or more. A larger compressor is a a good upgrade. The reason a lot of people on the list dislike the turbo is because simply boost bleeds don't work particularly well. The reason is that the vanes needed to be moved not nessarily according to boost levels. They also need to be opened when the car is not under boost. The vanes also need their position toggled every few minutes or as needed to clear any carbon build up or they will start sticking. Computer control is the only really good way to control this turbo which makes a lot of people leary of using it. I don't think that would bother many people on this list however. When I get my boost controller for the VNT working I will let anyone that is interested know. Gunnesch" Subject: speaking of buying used stuff... I'm looking at building an older sbc that I want to wind the heck out of on the track. I'm thinking that a miniram would be a sweet way of doing it. However, TPIS wants $900 for the miniram and $355 for the fuel rails with AFPR. Anybody know where people like to sell used things like this? I'd like to see if I could get one for a reasonable price... I found what I beleive is a 2 bar map sensor but the sensor was damaged, so I want to buy a new one from GM. I can't read the part number and the parts guy wants either a part number or the year and car that the sensor is from. Here's what I can read off of the sensor: 886-xxxx-1xx Is this 2 bar? What car and year? If anyone has a sensor response graph for a GM 2 bar Map and the pin out, could you please e-mail it to me. It would really help me out. I am looking for approximately 300 hp and need an injector that will flow accordingly. What are some good sources for inexpensive injectors (reconditioned ok). I was thinking specifcally of Porsche 944 injectors. The computer is a VW (Bosch) digifant injection system. Also I am looking for a Bosch (or other) fuel pump that will support that amount of power too. Any suggestions would be greatly aprreciated. ------------------------------ Date: Thu, 24 Jun 1999 20:37:43 -0400 From: Scot Sealander Subject: Re: can't upload a bin, and disassembling the bin Pat Ford wrote: > Hi Guys: > I got the binary image off the '730 the first 16 bytes are; > 000000000: 04 D9 FF FF FF FF CD 0D 46 C0 00 20 0C 3F 3F 3F ........F.. .??? > > the label on the chip says ADDB 1593 I don't know from the BCC, but from the code id, it is from about a 1987 2.8L that uses both MAF and MAP sensors. Most of those were updated with new code (MAP only) after all the MAFs went bad. It must have been a survivor. Got an option code book handy? There's a note that says "Special: T46, hood, steel" so I'm curious about T46. The 6809dasm can be used to disassem small areas of code, I've been using it, and updating the tables in it for the 'hc11 as I go. Have you tried the disasm11 yet?, work ok? I'll usually find a table area I'm interested in, search the code for it's address, then dism that area to try and figure out what it's doing.
