Another problem with Aldl comms. I'm getting interference from the spark leads I think. When my car cranks or goes into high load in high rpms, my data logging devices goes a little haywire and some readings goes high or low, like little peaks/spikes. Its really annoying and it upsets all my calcuations. How does Diacom get over this problem? Should I be using a ferrite rod or something to filter the spikes out? Should I even build a circuit just to filter out the noise? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd suggest: Changing Plug wires. Are you running greater plug gaps then really needed?. What kind of air gap is there in the cap to rotor?. Might measure other brands to min air gap. The "air gap" is just to set a min firing voltage.. Is the phasing of the distributor, right, meaning the rotor right at the terminal for the appropriate plug. Is there some oem ignition sheilding missing?. Sometimes a real honkin coil isn't really necessary, specially if jetted right. (Oh for a WB O2) While I have little in car time with diacom, RF will drive any of my scanners ditsy.. I used it to add an O2 sensor to my Spider. I'm taking the iron heads off and using camaro lt1 heads with a lt4 hot cam kit in it. I have the pcm and wireing out of the caprice and need to know a few things. First of all will a tech 2 program these pcm's? I know ive seen them change tiresize on truck and things like that. i have access to a tech 2 any time i need it so if it will program the pcm that will be great. If not is there a program and adaptercable avalible for a laptop? If i flash it for a camaro i will have to use the camaro maf right? Is there any way to use 2 caprice maf's, like a dual snorkel, i have 2 of them and would save some $$ :). Will the computer function ok with no egr, cats and air pump? I think thats all for now Thanks Mike ------------------------------ End of DIY_EFI Digest V4 #659 ***************************** To subscribe to DIY_EFI-Digest, send the command: subscribe diy_efi-digest in the body of a message to "Majordomo@xxx.
