Getting the engine off idle is difficult, you give the throttle a tap and the engine hestates then comes up. If you tap the throttle several times you can almost get the engine to stop. Suggestions? I am thinking TPS.. It is only a POT and everbody knows that pots get noisey.... What do you think? That's what the brainstorming is for; not only to find a way if one is possible, but also to discover dead-ends and prune them off before wasting time following them into futility. We certainly are assuming alot from this poor lil bang-bang controller that in normal everyday life was only required in C/L to make fairly small fueling changes to maintain real stoich. Now we're talkin bout jerking him all over the place, telling him "oh man, you are WAY lean, richen up dood", and asking him to make relatively large fueling changes and hoping he can keep up. I have my doubts too about his speed and slew-rate limitations. Even with small fuel adjustments to maintain stoich, the rate at which he crosses stoich is no small clue about how speedy he might be (or is it just the vanilla O2 sensor that's slow :). >... >...Walter.....any ideas??? >-Carl Summers Yeah, where IS Walter when we need him? When you press the throttle, the sensor sends out pulses - about 16 from idle to WOT. In my experience the things that fail first are connectors, not the actual sensors... Course we might be doing this all arse backwards. Why use EGOR to control WOT as C/L?. Just miss out on using all the hype words is all, we want performance, right?. OK we got a WB accurate meter. Fine. Tune WOT with fuel Pressure, and then let EGOR striagthen out and report where the errors are for all other operating circumstances. Just leave WOT alone, and use EGOR just to monitor that it is running at the optimum after tuning. Use it as a performance monitor for AFR like, it's really designed for. Then use it for making sure everything else if right, and use it to know when there is a WOT problem...
