and to the point as possible.
- The first paragraph must be interesting to
gain the attention of the reader.
- The letter need not flow like novel and
can be made up of machine gun points or statements.
- Tell it like it is, your feelings, your
opinion, your fears.
- The media wants to know what you think and
want.
- Do not be afraid to use OUR slogans, do
not repeat the slogans of gun control.
- Take a snipe at organisations by all means.
Grief For South Africa or Gangsters and Criminals
Alliance..
- Be polite and don't be abusive.
- Attack but be sure you are right first.
There is little to be gained in attacking the media or
staff.
It is better to bring to public notice what
will influence them the most. Remember firearms are not high on
this list. Safety and security from the ravages of crime are.
Abuse of powers by the state and police. Waste of TAX money for
no public benefit. The right to self-defense because the police
do not protect private citizens. Nor can they prevent a crime
from happening if they do not know about it.
- Be sure to compliment when deserved.
- Humour is fine but don't over do it. What
is funny to you may not be to someone else.
There are many experienced letter writers on
the firearms forum list. Do not
ever be afraid to ask for help. Each and every one of those
letter writers will go out of their way to help you.
