This review has been modelled after Kastier's Name: The Reunion Platform: TADS Designer: Moriarty Version: ? Release Date: Review Date: 2.4.2005 Spoilers in Review: Possibly (assume yes) rayneedayzz's ranking: 8 of 10 Plot synopsis: You and your fiance Cathy have been invited to a class reunion at a beach resort. Aware of your reluctance to go (for various reasons), Cathy has reserved separate rooms for the two of you and indicated that this would be more than just you and her during the reunion. Writing + Plot: The Reunion has a wonderful storyline. The puzzles seem to make sense. Usually you can break the ice using the "Talk to" command but to really advance in the game you should try to use the "ask x about" and "tell x about" commands, which encourages the player to think a little bit. Some of the puzzles I found easy some i found hard (but that's just me..maybe i'm stupid). But the game was accompanied by a wonderful hint system I'd never seen before. What I particularily liked about the game was that it had multiple endings. Score: 9 Technical (design + programming): The descriptions were nice for the game, though a few of them didn't match up after you changed some events (npc desc would describe clothes on after you removed them). It might have been just me but I found myself in a mildy irritating guess-the-verb situation a few times when i knew what to do but didn't know how to type it. But that was only on a few occasions. Score: 9 Entertainment Factor: Once the reunion starts, it's hard to stop as you're trying to finish a puzzle you started but end up on others to complete that puzzle. It was very entertaining, especially at some certain puzzles with good endings too. Score: 10 ----------------------------------------------- The Last Word: Moriarty has a talent for writing stories and, in this aspect, AIF. I found it entertaining at the very least and it was easy to get a picture based on the descriptions. Well done. My ranking: 9 out of 10
