Adobe Acrobat Plug-Ins: AutoClose AutoClose automatically closes the most least recently used document before Acrobat's limit of 10 open documentsis reached. This Plug-In has no user interface. AutoClose ships as a standard Plug-In component of the Acrobat Search for CD-ROMs product. Requirements: AutoClose is compatible with Acrobat Exchange 2.0 or later and Acrobat Reader 2.1 or later. Adobe Acrobat Plug-Ins ===================== The "Plug-Ins" folder is the standard place to ÒinstallÓ Acrobat plug-ins. After installing a plug-in you need to Quit and restart Acrobat Exchange or Reader. To install Acrobat Plug-Ins Place the plug-in inside the ÒPlug-InsÓ folder within the ÒAdobe AcrobatÓ folder. To un-install Acrobat Plug-Ins: Drag the particular Acrobat plug-in you want to un-install from the ÒPlug-InsÓ folder to the ÒOptional Plug-InsÓ folder. Note: For Acrobat Exchange 2.0, the name of the parent folder was "Adobe Acrobat 2.0." Not all plug-ins are designed to work with Acrobat Reader 2.1 and Acrobat Reader 2.0 does not support plug-ins at all. Using AutoClose =============== There is no user interface for the AutoClose (autoclos.api) plug-in. It automatically closes the least recently used document before Acrobat's limit of 10 open documents is reached. AutoClos also enhances the Go Back stack in that it will automatically re- open a previously closed document if you "go back" to it. For Windows, there is an ini file (c:\windows\autoclos.ini) that by default appears as: [AutoClose] MaxDocs=9 By reducing the MaxDocs value, you can limit the number of open documents to an even smaller number.
