Q: My Cinepak movie rendering seems to take an inordinate
amount of time, is this normal?
A: Due to the nature of Cinepak and the restraints of the host
computer, the render times will often be considerable.
Q: I have the Cinepak Accelerator Kit and it doesn't seem to be
working well on my Power Macintosh. Why not?
A: The Cinepak accelerator IS NOT compatible with the Power Mac
family of computers. However, without the accelerator kit, the native
Power Macintosh rendering speed of Cinepak when running under QT 2.0
or later will actually exceed the speed of the accelerator kit.
Q: After rendering a Cinepak movie at 640x480, I've noticed
that the frame rate is extremely low, is this normal?
A: Yes, the maximum recommended frame size is 320x240
[NTSC].
Q: Will my Cinepak rendered movies play after being pressed
onto a CD-ROM?
A: The requirements for movie playback [based on a 320x240
movie] is approximately 300 kb/sec. A double speed CD ROM device
would be required for this kind of performance.
