This is for Open Transport. Hey, How is it going. Here is the Info you requested about a Static IP First connect to your provider. Once you have connected go into TCP/IP control panel and look at the IP address wright it down. Step 2 Disconnect from your service provider. Then go back into the TCP/IP control panel.(before you do anything go to the File menu up top, pull it down and go to configurations. Find your configuration, select duplicate, then name it Static.) Now in the actual TCP/IP panel. go to Connect Via. select PPP(or what you connect through). Then under that in the configuration, select manually. Enter the IP data that you got while online in the IP address box. Wala you have a Static IP. PS. to edit those areas in the TCP/IP control panel you will have to select user mode under the edit pull down menu. you want to go to administrator mode. You will see little locks. Unlock everything and then when you are done lock them back. Also a word of warning an ISP assigns you a IP number every time you sign on. By doing this you are telling the ISP to give you that number and no other. If it has assigned that number to someone else you will not be able to connect. You will have to keep trying until you connect at that number.
