I ordered a supply from him. And, as reported here many times, the PS arrived well packaged and came with a nicely written set of documentation/instructions. However, this original PS would not work. It turned out to be my system AND not the supply. Stephen Buggie was very helpful via e-mail and immediately sent out a second supply for me to try. This second supply was from a different manufacturer and works beautifully with my system. So, I'd like to commend Stephen for going the extras mile for his customers! Once again, the problem with the first supply was due to my system. The first supply was fine (It worked flawlessly during its testing period on Dr. Buggie's own IIgs -- he tests all PS on his systems before shipping.) Some IIgs motherboard/expansion card combinations are just more finicky than others. The first supply did not do any damage at all to my system. The computer just would lock up with a colorfully scattered display when I powered it up. I highly recommend a Buggie power supply not only because the product is well built but because of the outstanding support behind it!! Brad, My partition is named /bbs And yes, my card is in slot 6, but I have a ramfast, and I can map the volumes to whatever slot without problems. I don't think you should somewhere tell metal where to search. BTW, did you run CONFIGURE.S before you tried to run the BBS, i mean startup.s ? I'll have a second look at it. -= Doede = (R)eply, (E)rase, (C)opy, (F)orward, (B)acktrack, (P)revious, or (N)ext? e <<< CONFIRMED: MESSAGE #52612 ERASED >>> Date: Monday, October 21, 1996 5:48am Electronic Mail From: INT:Dark_Dude@darkcastle.ecore.fnet.org Msg#: 52919 To: System Test Re: Re: Dark Castle Magazine (Fw by Sysop) (N)ext, (P)revious, or (R)ead this message? I know it sounds much, but shipping is so darn high, otherwise I could have done $25 for one year incl. disk. You can do without disk if you want... But it is my price, and if I don't keep to it, Dark Castle will be gone real soon, unless I get alot subscribers, which will take the price down. But electronic version: naah, doesn't work - isn't fun. People read it on html, but you don't know who reads it. People that don't have internet access don't read it (example: out of 30 IIgs users in Holland, only 4 have inet access at work or school...). There are more users in Holland, but it's an example. But yes, it could nock costs down, but people aren't willing to pay as much for some information they receive via email than a printed matter.... do they? I'll check out your bbs soon again - no time now; I'm going to Germany for 2 days with my girlfriend :) Gotta get some sleeeeeep..
