For Highpeed Handware Handshaking

Computer Port	To	Modem
3 2	TD(transmit data)
5 3	RD(receive data)
4 7	GND(single ground)
short 8to4
2 5	CTS(clear to send)
1 4	RTS(ready to send)
		short 4 to 20	DTR(data terminal ready)
7 8	DCD(data carrier detect)

This comes from the proterm manual and make sure you have the shorts in it to
work right I had that problem before, until I bought a new cable without
building one.
