New enhanced graphics display controllers for various kinds of digital audio/video applications, in which MPEG decoder functions
will be integrated together are planned as successive products. In addition we plan to integrate the CPU core and various I/O functions and define a single-chip solution for car navigation applications.
Under Development GDC Navigation and Mobile: Rose Rose was originally planned to be a 4MB/32MBit version of Scarlet (2MB/16MBit). However, this development was delayed to give other projects a higher priority. Orchid Orchid is a non-SDRAM version of Scarlet MB86291. This chip allows to expand the graphic memory up to 32MB using external SDRAM. Orchid is ideal for applications which require a powerful 2D/3D rendering plus video input, but on wide scale displays. This chip is currently under development and will become available in Q3 2001. Coral Coral will be a graphic display controller with more enhanced features like 6 programmable layers with alpha-channel, automatic line joinings, angled line patterns and many more. Coral will be available in different package versions (QFP, BGA) and with different co-processor features. The logic design will start in Q2 2001 and first samples are expected in early 2002. GDC Multimedia and Digital AV: Vermillion, Maroon and Burgundy These new graphics display controllers will support digital audio/video applications, in which MPEG decoder functions are integrated together with graphic display functions. The target application range is "mobile multimedia" which means these devices will have a small footprint and very low power consumption. Fujitsu is currently defining the specification of this family, therefore schedule information can not be given at this moment. | |
