'C3x DSK aids floating-point development

TI is expanding the availability of their US $99 DSP Starter Kits (DSKs) to include the 'C3x family of floating-point DSPs. The 'C3x DSK, the first low-cost, floating-point DSP development kit, has been designed as an expandable development platform that lets you experiment with and develop real-time signal processing applications with the TMS320C31 DSP. The DSK also gives you the freedom to develop your own software on a PC and run it on the DSK board, or expand your system by interfacing with daughterboards. The key features include:

  • TMS320C31 32-bit floating point DSP
  • 40-ns instruction cycle
  • Standard or Enhanced Parallel Printer Port interface
  • XDS510 emulator connector
  • 14-bit dynamic range A/D and D/A convertors
  • Standard RCA plug connectors for analog I/O
  • I/O expansion bus for daughtercards
  • DSK assembler
  • DSK debugger
  • Sample applications

The 'C3x DSK (part number TMDS3200031) is planned to be available from TI's authorized distributors on April 15.
