| Overview: | With the Stradis MPEG Audio Encoder, it is easy to put high-quality digital audio compression into your products. It includes all the features needed for digital radio or digital television systems including video/audio synchronization and clock-locking. The input is a glueless interface to industry standard 16- to 24-bit A/D converters, digital audio receivers, and rate-converters. The compressed MPEG output is available as either a Transport Stream, a Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) or an Elementary Stream (ES) with either a parallel or serial bit-stream output. A high-performance phase-locked loop on the encoder means only one external clock signal (either 90kHz, 26.88Mhz, 27MHz or any valid MPEG bit-rate) is required. And all this in only five square inches of board space. The Stradis MPEG Audio Encoder is compatible with the TMS320AV110, TMS320AV120, and TMS320AV220. |

| Algorithm Verification: | There are no ISO/IEC test vectors for MPEG audio. However, the MPEG algorithm incorporated into the Sradis MPEG Encoder has been used in thousands of systems and is currently in use in satellite uplink transmitters, CATV local ad insertion systems, terrestrial digital video network systems, and radio and television station equipment around the world. |
