| Overview: | The HET40SD is a TIM-40 with one TMS320C40 processor. There is 1M byte SRAM on its local bus, and 4 or 16M byte DRAM on its global bus, a maximum of 5 or 17M byte mixed memory. Optionally, a J3 connector may be fitted, which allows the global bus to access (shared memory on) the motherboard. The SRAM used is zero wait state SRAM, the DRAM is fast page mode DRAM. The module is a size 1 TIM-40 module. The HET38 is a size 2 TIM-40 with one C40 processor. The module has 32Mbytes of DRAM on its local bus, 4Mbytes of DRAM on its global bus and a further 2M bytes of SRAM on its global bus. The JTAG port is used for debugging. In any system, with any number of processors, the JTAG allows debugging access to each individual processor in the system. There are several debugging tools available to take advantage of the JTAG's features. The HET40SD and HET38 derive the processor clock from the motherboard. The TMS320C40 is a 275 MOPS and 50 MFLOPS rated DSP processor (50 Mhz version) from Texas Instruments. It has the unique feature of 6 comports, each of which can transfer data at 20M byte/sec. |
