Overview: G.723.1 is a CELP coder with two different bit rates (6.3- and 5.3k-bits). It has a good quality for speech and a lower one for music. It is designed to compress speech signal in videophone applications on PSTN. For an optimized solution, all the code is written in assembler. The software carries out multi-channel applications. The software implemented has the VAD/DTX/CNG structure.
Ideal Performance: Processor loading details: 16 MIPS for the encoder (both rates), 4 MIPS for the decoder (both rates)
Algorithm Verification: ITU-T test vectors
