Overview: The COSSAP(r) digital communications design environment offers a complete system design and implementation flow that allows designers of communication systems to optimize their system designs, implement them using hardware/software co-design and leveraging Synopsys' industry-leading behavioral and register transfer-level logic synthesis tools, and verify implementations on DSPs, microcontrollers, and ASICs using multi-level verification. COSSAP(r)'s DSP Developer Kits (DDKs) allow cosimulation between COSSAP(r)'s Stream Driven Simulator(tm), the industry's leading dataflow system simulator, and the DSP vendors' own instruction set simulators for many leading DSPs, including TI's TMS320C5x and 'C54x. Combined with Synopsys' extensive digital communications systems knowledge, captured in the form of COSSAP(r)'s Reference Design Kits (RDKs) for GSM, CDMA and other key applications, this enables the designer to code, debug and verify assembler routines in the system context, using proven and complete system-level reference testbenches. Additionally, DSP code generation and DSP development card support is available for TMS320C3x and 'C4x floating-point DSPs.
