| Overview: | Virtuosoş Nano is a real-time operating system (RTOS) which is aimed at developers with very limited memory requirements. Often used by developers integrating DSP cores on an ASIC, it is available for general purpose DSPs as well. Offering over 30 kernel services for communication and synchronisation between tasks using different types of communication channels, Virtuoso® Nano is optimised for speed and minimum code size (eg. 300 Words on C40). It features a round-robin scheduler which allows modular programming to tackle your design problems. Two versions are available: SP: Single processor version for simple DSP applications VSP: Virtual single processor version for multi-DSP applications The VSP version allows a programmer to develop his code as for a single processor. All interprocessor communication is taken care of by the operating system, without compromising the real-time behaviour of the overall system. |
