| Overview: | Virtuoso® v.4.0 is a unique RTOS, focused on DSP. Key features are ease of use, minimum overhead and maximum performance. Two versions exist: SP: Single processor VSP: Virtual single processor for parallel DSP applications The VSP version handles all interprocessor communication, without compromising the real-time system behaviour. The amount of processors is unlimited, and easy remapping on different architectures is possible. Both versions include a Microkernel and a Nanokernel. The Microkernel offers over 70 different services for managing tasks, timers, memory, etc. The Nanokernel offers around 30 services. Virtuoso® v.4.0 is optimised to avoid the overhead incurred by common OSs. Interrupt latency and task switch times are the fastest offered in the industry. The code size is minimal and application specific. The API is common for all processors, allowing easy migration to different platforms. |
