Question: 6201 HPI/DMA Access During an Emulator Halt

Answer: The DMA and HPI cannot access internal memory during an emulator halt. The reasons is that the internal memory is frozen like the CPU pipeline. Even, if it was not. The emulator would still take thousands of cycles to scan out state during which the program and data memory must remain frozen.
