Question : Can the C54X HPI in shared access mode be used without using the HRDY to the host? (A side from reading HPIC or HPIA, writing to HPIC). The User's Guide does not state that not connecting the HRDY to the host will lead to unreliable access. Is the minimum cycles required to read or write a byte to the HPI always 5 CLKOUT cycles?

Answer : Yes, the C54X HPI in shared access mode can be used without using the HRDY to the host as long as the timing is met. If you look at page 104 of the latest c54x datasheet, sprs039b, the minimum cycles required to read or write a byte to the HPI, which is case 2a for tc(DSH-DSH), is 10H ns or 5 CLKOUT cycles.
