Logic news
A new logic family from Texas Instruments
will enable designers of high-performance systems to increase
performance without increasing cost. New Advanced HCMOS (AHC)
logic devices are three times faster than HCMOS logic, while remaining
pin-to-pin compatible.
Fuzzy logic technology enables the use
of engineering experience and experimental results in designing
an embedded system. In many applications, this circumvents the
use of rigorous mathematical modeling to derive a control solution.
The benefits of using fuzzy logic technologies
in control system design have been shown in a wide variety of
applications and products. In the past, however, the computational
resources needed to implement the fuzzy logic algorithm required
special hardware such as dedicated fuzzy logic coprocessors or
slow microcontrollers (MCUs), which limited the bandwidth of the
system.
