New CMOS linear sensor offers 400 DPI

TI's new linear image sensor with 400 dots per inch (DPI) of pixel pitch includes a new hold function to minimize image skewing.

The TSL1401 provides designers with added control over pixel integration and is a cost-effective solution for scanning and sensing applications such as image scanning, contact imaging and code reading.

The device consists of 128 photodiodes arranged in a linear array, associated charge amplifier circuitry and a pixel data-hold function that causes all pixels to start and stop integration at the same time, rather than sequentially as each pixel is clocked out. This helps eliminate image skewing.

The TSL1401 is now available through TI and its authorized distributors.
TSL1401 8-pin DIP $4.95
Suggested retail pricing in U.S. dollars in 1K quantity.
