Texas Instruments' Low Dropout Voltage Regulator Family features one of the industry's lowest dropout voltages, plus very low quiescent current. This is made possible by replacing the traditional PNP pass transistor with a PMOS element. Typical applications include cellular phones, PDAs, notebooks, barcode scanners, and handheld instruments.
