World's Smallest Audio Power Amps Target New Applications

TPA301 Diagram

The TPA301/311 starting at only $0.67 per device in quantities of 1,000.

Features:

  • Fully characterized for 3.3-V and 5-V operation
  • 8-pin SOIC and thermally enhanced MSOP PowerPAD(TM) package
  • THD+N less than 1% throughout voiceband frequencies
  • TPA311 features integrated single-ended/bridge-tied load switch
  • Integrated depop circuitry (TPA311)
  • TPA301 features ultralow shutdown current

The TPA301 and TPA311 from TI are the world's smallest bridge-tied load (BTL) audio amplifiers. Each offers features that provide power and fidelity to low-power audio applications including cellular phones, pagers and battery-operated toys.

The TPA311 is ideal for applications where both speaker and earphone operation are required. In addition to BTL mode, the TPA311 can switch on the fly between BTL and SE (single-ended) modes.

For increased flexibility, the TPA301 and TPA311 will operate down to 2.0V. Both devices are specified at 3.3-V and 5-V single supply, delivering 200 mW into an 8-ohm load from a 3.3-V supply or 350 mW from a 5-V supply.
