In an effort to help system designers reduce design cycle time, Texas instrument has designed an accurate and easy-to-use evaluation module (EVM) for its Low-voltage Differential Signaling (LVDS) products. Flexibility has been designed into this EVM so it can be set-up in a point-to-point topology (1 driver to 1 receiver), a multidrop topology (1 driver to various receivers), and even receive TIA/EIA-422 data into an LVDS receiver. Detailed instructions and diagrams have been included for above mentioned interconnections to facilitate set-up.
Although this EVM is only equipped with the products SN65LVDS31 and SN65LVDS32, the results represent transmitting characteristics also found in SN65LVDS9637, SN65LVDS9638, SN65LVDS3486, and SN65LVDS3487.
