20 µA Supply Voltage Supervisors

The new TLC7705 consumes less than 1% of the power consumption of the industry standard TL7705. Manufactured using our LinBiCMOS process, the TLC7705 reduces power consumption while adding and improving functionality.

Improved Performance

The TLC7705 outperforms its predecessors: Its preset 4.55 V sense-voltage threshold is guaranteed to ± 1.5% max tolerance over the full -40° C to 85° C temperature range. Each device requires only 20 µA maximum supply current, making these truly micro-power supervisors. Larger values of timing capacitors CT (up to 100 µF) can be used for longer programmed time delays.

No External Resistors

The new CMOS design eliminates the need for external pull-up and pull-down resistors on the outputs. Both the active-high RESET and active-low RESET lines are internally terminated using a push-pull output stage. To eliminate undefined states during power-up and power-down, the RESET output is guaranteed asserted with VDD > = 1 V; both outputs are defined once VDD exceeds 2 V.

New Functionality

The TLC7705 also features additional logic for controlling static memory chips. The CONTROL pin, when driven by the memory select pin of a microprocessor, programs the RESET output to drive the chip select (CS) of the memory circuit (see application). For compatibility with existing TL7705A/B designs, CONTROL can be grounded for active-high RESET operation. The TLC7705 is available in 8-pin or SOIC plastic dip packages.
