The SN75196 is a low cost rugged RS-232 device combining five drivers and three receivers with ESD protection in excess of 10 kV on the bus pins and 5 kV on all pins. The SN75196 is designed to be a single chip solution for the peripheral end of the RS-232 cable. The device compliments the SN75185 which is designed for the PC end of the RS-232 cable and the pin-out allows flow-through board layout. The switching speeds of the SN75196 support data rates up to 120 kbps with cable lengths of 3 meters. The all- bipolar SN75196 provides a rugged low-cost solution for this function. The SN75196 is characterized for operation from 0° to 70°C and is available in the 20-pin plastic dip and wide body SOIC (DW) packages.

The AM26LV31 and AM26LV32 are 3-volt quadruple line drivers and receivers, respectively, with the industry standard footprints of the popular AM26LS31 and 'LS32. The 'LV31/32 will provide a significant power reduction from the 5-volt bipolar industry standard devices. In environments like telephone switch rooms, this power savings will translate into reduced power requirements and reduced heat output which will save money on the electricity, air conditioning and reduce maintenance costs for the entire system. The
LV31/32 will accept 5-volt logic inputs while operating off the 3-volt supply, maintaining backward compatibility with the 5 V '31/'32 devices. The AM26LV31 and AM26LV32 are characterized for operation from 0° to 70°C and are available in the 16-pin surface mount package.3-Volt RS-422 drivers and receivers
