Texas Instruments Sponsors EETimes Analog Design Challenge With $60,000 in Prize Money
SAN JOSE (July 13, 1997) - The EETimes Analog Design Challenge, sponsored by Texas Instruments, will award $60,000 in cash to the designers that most inventively and extensively use TI's analog, mixed-signal and digital components in a design of the entrants' choice. The contest was announced here at the Analog/Mixed-Signal Conference during the keynote address by Dr. Dennis Buss, TI's Vice-President of Mixed-Signal Technology.
A free design kit is available to help engineers develop their entries. It consists of an Analog Design Challenge CD-ROM containing technical documentation and support information on TI's analog and mixed-signal product lines. According to Dataquest, TI was the number one supplier in the analog market in 1997. In addition, the kit contains free sample offers and discount coupons towards the purchase of an evaluation module (EVM).
Design kits must be requested by January 15, 1999 and entries must be postmarked by March 1, 1999 to be eligible to win. Winners will be announced by April 19, 1999. Independent judges from the EETimes editorial staff and Academia will select the winning designs.
The contest is worldwide in scope. Regional winners - one each from North America, Europe, Asia and Japan - will be awarded $5000. A grand prize of $40,000 will be awarded to the best entry overall as determined by the judges.
