- Does TI offer free samples?
Texas Instruments is running a pilot test for online ordering of free samples of selected Semiconductor devices. At this time, only a small number of devices have samples available for online ordering. If you need to purchase samples for other devices, please contact a TI Authorized Distributor.
- How does the sample request process work?
Links to available samples will appear for these devices on the web page that displays pricing, datasheets and other documentation for that specific device. Samples you request are automatically placed in a "shopping basket". Once you have one sample request in your shopping basket, you have the option to submit the order or to search for other devices to add to your basket. If you have an open basket and would like to submit the order now,
When putting Japan (JP) in the Country field on the registration form, the response page links to http://www-a.tij.co.jp/Sample_Req/Scripts/Sample_Main.asp. Why?
Since we cannot accept Kanji addresses on the Sample Requests, we must link the Japan user to
the
Japanese Sample Request page.
- How do I add devices to my shopping basket?
There are several ways to look up TI Semiconductor devices:
Search by Part Number or Keyword
Search by Device Parameters
Browse Product Family Tree
Go to the Engineering Design Center.
- How much do the samples cost?
The on-line sample requests are free.
- The on-line sample request doesn't offer samples for parts that I need. What should I do?
If additional product samples are needed, please contact your local Texas Instruments Authorized Distributor.
- Why can't I connect to the server to request samples?
TI sample requests uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for communication between your web browser and a new Texas Instruments secure web server. This encrypts your personal information to provide total security while it travels across the Internet. You will need a web browser that supports SSL.
- Check your browser's security options settings to verify that SSL hasn't been disabled.
- If your browser reports a DNS problem resolving www-a.ti.com try connecting with a specific IP Address of 192.94.94.197.
- If you need assistance configuring your proxy settings, contact your system administrator.
- Some ISP's have difficulty connecting to a new web server. If you fail to connect after several attempts, contact your ISP for assistance.
The following web browsers should work:
AOL 3.0 or higher
Lynx 2.3.7 or higher
Microsoft Internet Explorer 2.0 for Windows or higher
Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.0 for Macintosh or higher
Netscape Navigator 1.1 or higher
Netscape Communicator
However, we recommended that you upgrade to the latest version of your web browser to benefit from the bug fixes and security enhancements incorporated into the latest version.
Texas Instruments does not provide support for any of these web browsers. Contact the browser manufacturer if you need assistance.
- What's the deal with all these cookies?
Cookies are a way for the site to maintain state information by passing data back to your browser. The next time you visit the site your browser will automatically pass the data back. The Sample Request application uses two cookies: one to store your session ID and one to store your shopper ID. Once your shopper ID is stored in your browser's cookie file, you will never again be prompted for your username and password by the Sample Request site. If you choose not to accept the cookies, the application will still work, but each time you return to the site you'll be prompted for your username and password.
- I forgot my password. Now what?
If you forget your password, you can still gain access by clicking on the I forgot my password link and entering your username and alternate id. that you specified when you registered. If you did not specify an alternate id. or you forgot it, then you'll have to
re-register; we cannot lookup your password.
- Who should I contact if I have a problem or question?
You can contact the TI Semiconductor Webmaster by clicking here.
