Setting Final and driver bias. This information was inadvertently left out of the Delta 580 manual. Print this page and add it to your manual. This setting is done with no RF drive to Final amplifier unit. Insert a ma. meter in series with the red 12V power lead to the Final Amplifier unit. R-23 on the BIAS BOARD is the bias adjustment for the finals. Initially set this control for minimum. This will have the finals in a cut off state and any current being red on the ma meter will be driver bias. R-17 in the Final Amplifier unit is the bias adjustment for the DRIVER. Adjust this for between 4 and 8 ma. Note this reading. Now, with the final bias adjustment, R-23 on the bias board, adjust for an increase of 500 ma. For example, if the driver bias is 6 ma. set R-23 for a total reading of 506 ma. Walter A. Breining N9WB Per instructions during a phone call to Ten-Tec 30, May, 2008
