Setting Final and driver bias.

This information was inadvertently left out of the Delta 580 manual.

This setting is done with no RF drive to Final amplifier unit.
Insert a ma. meter in series with the red 12V power lead to the Final Amplifier unit.
 
R-23 on the BIAS BOARD is the bias adjustment for the finals. 
Initially set this control for minimum. This will have the finals in a cut off state and any current being red on the ma meter will be driver bias.

R-17 in the Final Amplifier unit is the bias adjustment for the DRIVER. Adjust this for between 4 and 8 ma. Note this reading.

Now, with the final bias adjustment, R-23 on the bias board, adjust for an increase of 500 ma.  

For example, if the driver bias is 6 ma. set R-23 for a total reading of 506 ma.
