TW-2000

Below is a Hallicrafters TW-2000 Run 2.  It may be considered a Transoceanic look a like.  However, after restoring this unit, I feel it is a much better performer, more stable, from an alignment point of view and a bit more sensitive.

The TW-2000 contains a rotary tuning unit.  It must be removed and disassembled for a complete restoration, resistor and capacitor replacement.  But it is a very stable unit to align.  Removal of the Antenna Trimmer section of each band is necessary to align the RF section of the tuner.  The rotary tuner may add more labor and challenges to a restoration but it provides a quit stable RF platform.

Below are the progression of pictures that were taken during restoration.  Quit a few of these pictures were taken to allow me to go back and see how the components were originally connected.

Schematics and alignment procedures found at BAMA .  The alignment is found in the TW-1000 documentation.
