Processor Expert™ is based on long time experience with programming of safety critical applications, designing and implementing multitarget compilers and debuggers. First version of Processor Expert was implemented in 1993 and presented in 1994. Since this time requirements for Rapid Application Development and Code design for embedded area increased. Microprocessors contains also FPGA on chip now. Processor Expert is our answer for today embedded developer's needs.

Both hardware and software design have progressed so much with the ever-advancing new technologies emerging everyday, but their interrelationships and interdependence have been mostly neglected. On one hand, we often see a good new hardware architecture but the software design is too expensive for such an architecture. On the other hand, the computerization of  nearly all mechanical gadgets all over the modern world leads to the use of embedded computer systems in the situations where the cost factor prevents the use of too expensive hardware and we must select good software to reduce the overall design cost.

Processor Expert™ main features:

  • Processor Expert™ is designed for rapid application development of embedded applications with a wide range of microcontrollers and microprocessor systems
  • Application is created from components - Embedded Beans™
  • Embedded Beans™ encapsulate functionality of  basic elements of embedded systems like CPU core, CPU on-chip peripherals, FPGA, standalone peripherals, virtual devices, and pure software algorithms and change these facilities to properties, methods and events (like objects in OOP)
  • Processor Expert™  suggests, connects and generates code for you. User supplies usual On Event code.
  • Processor Expert™ allows true top-down style of application design;  first choose required functionality and then look for appropriate chip derivative
  • Processor Expert™ works with extensible beans library of supported microprocessors, peripherals, virtual devices
  • User can create his own beans using external tool Beans Wizard.
  • Sources could be generated to various programming languages including assembler, ANSI-C, MODULA-2, JAVA,...
  • Sources could be customized for special features of appropriate compilers and other tools
