The SN75276 transceiver is designed for differential bi-directional data links at data rates of 10 Mbps and is compatible with RS-485 and RS-422 applications. The transceiver is functionally equivalent to the industry standard. It is pin-for-pin compatible with the SN75176 and adds a FAIL SAFE feature. This additional feature guarantees an output under bus fault conditions of opens, shorts, and during idle bus periods. The SN75276 provides improved sensitivity on the receiver inputs over current FAIL SAFE devices.
The SN75276 is available in both DIP and SOIC packaging.
