TI Offers Industry's First Line of 1394 Design Kits

TI's Affordable Design Kits Enable PC, Consumer Electronics, and Telecommunications Designers to Work With 1394 Silicon

DALLAS (Aug. 12, 1996) -- Texas Instruments today announced the availability of the industry's first broad range of affordably priced 1394 design kits. Designers at computer, consumer electronics and telecommunications companies can now use these design kits to develop new products which incorporate the 1394 technology.

As the first company to offer 1394 silicon, TI continues in its leadership role of providing 1394 solutions by offering these design kits. TI's 1394 design kits now include both a feature rich and value version of the PCILynx and 200 Mbps PHY kit, a PCI 100 Mbps card kit, a backplane kit, and a peripheral kit for easy prototyping. TI also has plans to release a PCI to 1394 kit with a TI digital signal processor (DSP) in the near future.

Design Kit Information
