Key Technical Features
- Meets the Microsoft® PC 97 design guidelines for CardBus
and PC Card controllers in future generation systems, providing
compatibility with the Microsoft family of Windows® operating
system
- Next generation device, following on the industry's first
CardBus controller and de facto standard by market share (PCI1130)
- Compliant with Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Local
Bus specification 2.1
- Separate configuration spaces for two sockets
- Capable of acting as PCI master or slave
- Universal I/Os provide compatibility with 3.3-V and 5-V PCI
signaling environments
- Compliant with 1995 PC Card standard
- Two sockets support both 32-bit CardBus and/or 16-bit PC Card
cards simultaneously
- Mix-and-match capability supports 3.3- or 5-V cards, or one
of each voltage simultaneously
- Power-on ("hot") insertion and removal of cards

- Burst transfers maximize data throughput on the PCI and CardBus
buses

- Accepts 32-bit video signals from CardBus video capture card
for high-resolution, high-speed video
- Zoom Video feature routes video and audio signals directly
to graphics controller for 16 bit Zoom Video cards

- Half the power consumption of previous generation device
- 3.3-V core logic assures low power consumption at all times
- Hardware and software suspend modes enable the system to power
off the device between keystrokes while internal registers are
saved
