Q: Is the Pivot/LE supported on the Power Macintosh Family?
A: No. Since the Pivot/LE has no built-in video circuitry, it will not work off of the internal video of any Macintosh. The Pivot/LE shipped with a model number 0406 card, which allowed for pivoting. This card is not compatible with the bus architecture of the Power Macintosh computers. There is no solution which will allow for this display to pivot with a Power Macintosh. For the Nubus Based PowerMacs, if you connect the PrecisionColor 24XP, or PrecisionColor Pro 24XP card, the display will work, but only in its native "landscape" orientation. For the PCI Based PowerMacs, if you connect the PrecisionColor 8/1600 , or Thunder/30 family of cards, the display will work, but only in its native "landscape" orientation.
Q: How do I know if I have a Pivot/LE, or another version of the Pivot?
A: The easiest way is to look at the serial number on the back of the display. The Pivot/LE has a serial number which begins with the letters, "TNE."
Q: Is the Pivot/LE compatible with the AV series Macintosh computers?
A: Since the Pivot/LE requires a model number 0406 Pivot NuBus card, it is only compatible with the Quadra 840AV if that particular card is installed in the computer. This card is a full-size NuBus card, and as such will not fit into the smaller bus slot of the Centris 660AV. This renders the Pivot/LE incompatible with that, or any 7-inch expansion slot, Macintosh.
Q: Is the Pivot/LE compatible with the Quadra 630?
A: No. The full-size NuBus card necessary to operate the Pivot/LE will not fit into the bus slot of the Quadra 630.
