Q: I attached my display to a NEWER model Macintosh (Quadra 840av, 660av, 605, LC II/III, PowerBook, Power Macintosh and beyond), and I am not getting an image. What's wrong?
A: The 3-BNC cable that likely shipped with this monitor is not compatible with newer Macintosh systems whose video circuitry no longer "syncs on green". For these systems, a cable with 5-BNC connections are needed, one for Red, Green, Blue, Horizontal, and Vertical. Use this new cable with the adapters that were originally supplied with the T20 for either 1024 x768 or 1152 x 870 resolution. The adapter part numbers are 0007989-0001 for the 1024 x 768 mode, and 0007990-0001 for the 1152 x 870 mode. The new 5-BNC cable part number is 0009344-0001. Any of these items can be ordered by dialing 800-977-7060.
Q: I attached my display to the built-in-video port of a Macintosh that is greater than 1 or 2 years old, and I am not getting an image. What's wrong?
A: The cable supplied with this monitor requires the use of a resolution-specific cable adapter. Cable adapters for 1024x768 and 1152x870 are supplied with the monitor. Select a cable adapter that is compatible with the display support on the Macintosh system in use. Not all resolutions are supported with every Macintosh, especially these higher resolutions of 1024x768 and 1152x870. Consult your user's guide, an Apple dealer, or Apple directly to inquire about video capability of your Macintosh.
If you need to order these items, the necessary 3BNC cable is part number 0008773-0001. The adapter part numbers are 0007989-0001 for the 1024x768 mode, and 0007990-0001 for the 1152 x 870 mode. These items can be ordered by dialing 800-977-7060.
Q: How do I use Apple's "switch-on-the-fly" resolution feature with this monitor off of my Mac's built-in-video?
A: The SuperMac STD0010 multimode adapter kit may be used with this display to get switch on the fly capability. In Addition, Apple's Display Enabler software available on AppleLink and eWorld as part of the MultipleScan Display software pakage, or System 7.1.2 for Power Macintosh, or System 7.5 must be installed to enable this feature. On Power Macintosh systems, or systems with Power Macintosh upgrade cards, the use of the 5-BNC cable, part #0009344-0001, must be used in addition to the STD0010 adapter kit. These items can be ordered by dialing 800-977-7060.
