Fujitsu's F²MC16LX Microcontrollers are an architectural enhancement of the F²MC16L devices, offering additional instructions, (eg. Signed Multiply), improved interrupt handling and additional features such as patch programming.
Fabricated in Fujitsu's 0.5µm CMOS technology, these devices also offer improvements in current consumption, EMI characteristics but most importantly are thus able to feature Flash ROM on chip instead of OTPROM as the field programmable version. Mask ROM versions are also available.
In addition, taking advantage of the smaller die size, F²MC16LX devices tend to feature even more peripheral blocks on chip, including the Fujitsu CAN Bus controller.
