BIOScope
The host-based BIOScope analysis tool uses the same physical DSP JTAG connection employed by most TI compatible debuggers. BIOScope interprets, formats and renders data, log events and statistics captured from the target while the application is running. This provides real-time probing, monitoring, analysis, and performance profiling. These facilities can be used by a broad range of DSP development tools, including debuggers and emulators, manufacturing test, timing analysis, and diagnostics tools.
When used in tandem with a standard debugger or emulator during software development, BIOScope provides critical visibility into target program behavior at exactly those junctures where debuggers offer little or no insight during program execution. Even after the debugger halts the program and assumes control of the target, information already captured through the real-time analysis tools can provide invaluable insight into the sequence of events that led up to the current point of execution.
BIOScope identifies and displays audioSig missing its real-time deadline.
Later in the software development cycle, when conventional debuggers become ineffective for attacking subtle problems that arise from timing-dependent interactions, BIOScope's real-time capture facilities provide the software counterpart of a logic analyzer. Even after the application has been deployed in the target system and released to the field, BIOScope facilities that have been embedded in the application code can support advanced manufacturing test and field diagnostics capabilities.
