New SimpliCT™ diskless voice messaging from Connected Systems is quickly becoming as indispensable in small offices as fax machines or printers. Small, affordable and robust, SimpliCT supersedes PC-based voice processing solutions, cutting costs drastically by eliminating voiceboards, disks, monitors, fans and keyboards.

SimpliCT integrates an embedded PC chip, standard operating system software and a TMS320C5000-series DSP that replaces the telecom and voice compression functionality of a traditional PC voiceboard. A low-cost memory chip holds up to five hours of message storage.

D2 Technologies’ off-the-shelf DSP software provides telecom functions such as DTMF, call progress, voice activity detection and echo cancellation, and its voice compression technology allows efficient message storage while maintaining toll-quality voice on all audio channels. D2’s VP Open™ software architecture allows concurrent operation of different algorithms on multiple channels.
