Dear Customer/Distributor: Texas Instruments Inc. (TI), Semiconductor Group announced on June 18, 1998, the closing of the LMOS wafer fabrication facility located in Lubbock, Texas. LMOS is scheduled for closing on December 31, 1998. Because TI does not have a compatible process in other wafer facilities necessary to produce some of the mature Speech product families, TI is discontinuing the following parent devices which lack the demand to warrant alternative solutions. The discontinued devices include:
TSP50C4x Family
MSP50C5x Family
TSP60Cxx Family
** The TSP50P11 will continue to be available in prototyping quantities only with a limit of 100 units per custom code. For more information on this issue, please contact your TI sales representative, or:
