TRF3520 Chip

Features:

  • Modulation and Upconversion from I/Q Baseband to RF on a single chip
  • Designed for Global Systems for Mobile (GSM) portable cellular telephones
  • Internal voltage-controller oscillator (VCO) and Single-Sideband (SSB) mixer for transmit carrier generation
  • Internal RF filter for minimal external parts
  • Independent power-up/power-down functions
  • Low current consumption at 3.75 Volt operation
  • Typical driver amplifier output power: +6 dBm
  • Low profile package: 48-pin plastic quad flatpack package
  • Three wire serial data interface

Summary:   The TRF3520 is single chip RF modulator/amplifier suitable for 900 MHz GSM applications. It combines a direct conversion I/Q modulator, a SSB mixer, an RF filter, a power amplifier driver, a buffered VCO, and a serial interface. During idle operation, the individual functional elements may be selectively placed in standby mode for minimum power consumption.

The TRF3520 is fabricated in an advanced BiCMOS processing technology and operates from 3.75 volt bias supply. It is packaged in a low profile 48-pin quad flatpack package.
