TI has fast-tracked the release of five new Widebus™ high-speed memory interface drivers for use with the recently announced PC100 specification, initiated by Intel Corp. to support next generation PC systems. These Universal Bus Drivers offer developers the flexibility and reliability they need to minimize manufacturing costs and maximize system efficiency.

With the choice of five PC100 solutions -- ALVC16334, ALVC162334, ALVC16835, ALVC162835 and ALVC162836 -- designers can tailor high-speed memory interface drivers to specific DIMM (Dual In-line Memory Module) configurations. Widths of 16, 18 and 20 bits provide flexible options for design-specific DIMMs, allowing developers to reduce both design cost and board space.

All of the devices feature PC100-compliant latch-enable (LE) circuitry that allows the DIMM to operate in both registered and buffered modes. To protect against signal undershoot or overshoot, the ALVC162334, ALVC162835 and ALVC162836 feature internal series damping resistors.
