Code Composer Studio cuts coding time up to 50 percentCode Composer Studio, the industry’s first open, integrated digital signal processing (DSP) software development environment, is expected to be available early next year from Texas Instruments. TI’s Code Composer Studio combines the most advanced DSP software tools technologies, which can reduce the average DSP coding time by up to 50 percent or more. This eases many of the complexities of DSP development. Designers will be able to bring applications such as wireless base stations, remote access servers, digital subscriber loop systems, high-end visioning and imaging systems and voice-over-packet to market more easily, more reliably and with increased capabilities. Key capabilities of Code Composer Studio include real-time analysis and debugging coupled with advanced data visualization. These features permit designers to view data from a running DSP application without stopping execution, allowing the application signals and data to be viewed intuitively and naturally as images instead of text. This facilitates quick identification of real-time problems in users’ applications. Designers also will be able to extend their TI development system with a variety of specialized third-party tool plug-ins that support specific application needs. As a result, DSP developers will no longer have to spend time and resources developing customized utilities and can focus on their specific expertise. Many of these tool plug-ins are already available and were demonstrated recently at DSP World. Code Composer Studio is scheduled to be available on PCs (Windows 95/98/NT ) in 1Q99 for $2,995 and initially will support the TMS320C6000 platform. Code Composer Studio is a trademark of Texas Instruments. Windows and Windows NT are trademarks of Microsoft Corp. For complete information, see: Related Product Information.
