LV CMOS redesigns provide faster speeds, lower power and lower noiseFaster speeds, low static power and improved noise performance are a few of the benefits TI’s Low-Voltage (LV) CMOS technology products offer designers. The LV family is also 5-V tolerant and has been characterized for 2.5-V, 3.3-V and 5-V operation. LV products are designed for use with 3.3-V power supplies. Applications include consumer electronics, portable PCs, cellular telephones and other battery-powered equipment. Performance and power have been optimized by the recent " A" revision, which added IOFF specifications for live insertion and multiple VCC performance data. The 2-um CMOS process used for the LV family provides as much as 16 mA of drive current from octals and transceivers and 12 mA from gates. LV products feature a static ICC current of only 20 uA for both bus interface and gate circuits with typical propagation delays of 15 ns or less when operating at VCC of 3.3 V and a 15 pF load. The LV family is offered in standard and advanced surface-mount packaging options, including small-outline IC (SOIC), shrink small-outline package (SSOP) and thin SSOP (TSSOP).
