Product Description

The TSB41LV0x family of devices provides 400Mbps performance for the most demanding applications such as hard disk drives (HDD), hosts and multimedia peripherals. This new family of devices will be offered in a two, three, four, and six port version with multiple pin count/package types.

The TSB41LV0x family of devices supports serial bus data rates of 100, 200, and 400 Mbps, and interface directly to TI link layer devices of all three data rates. This device also supports optional electrical isolation. Each cable port incorporates two differential line transceivers, the transceivers include circuitry to monitor the line condition as needed or determine connection status, initialization and arbitration, and packet reception and transmission. The device is fully compliant with IEEE 1394-1995 and 1394.a including all PHY requirements for OHCI and full suspend/resume functionality, and meets the 400 Mbps requirement for Microsoft's PC'98 from a single 3.3 V supply.

The TSB41LV0x family of 400Mbps 1394 Physical Layer Devices allows designers the most flexibility in designing 1394 into their products by offering the most port configurations in the industry. Designer Kits are available today that allow a starting point for design.
